My Running for this year

by JasonRShaver 9. February 2009 16:53

I have two major goals for my running this year:

  • Half Marathon with a time of 1:55 on June, 7th (8:47 mile)
  • Chicago Marathon with a time under 4:00 on October, 11th (9:08 mile)

Here is my training schedule to complete those:

  • Start a speedwork program on March, 2nd
    • Start a 22 miles a week
    • End at 30 miles a week
  • Take the weeks of May, 25th and June, 1st as rest weeks.
  • Run the Half Marathon
  • Start a build-up program on June, 8th.
    • Start at 26 miles a week
    • End at 43 miles a week
  • Run the Marathon

I plan to run almost everything outside and will be tracking it via my Garmin 405 watch.

So far, my wife has promised to run the Half-Marathon and my co-worker Jordan has promised to run the Chicago Marathon.

I also intend to run a race on the following days, but I don't have any in mind yet:

  • April 12th, 5K goal of 27:30 (8:51 mile)
  • May 3rd, 8K goal of 39:20 (7:55 mile)
  • May 24th, 10K goal of 49:00 (7:53 mile)
