Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute.

 So I got a error on Vista that says: "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute. Please save your work now." And sure enough, 1 minute later my computer restarted. This would happen on machine startup and was greatly disrupting to my ability to work. Solution: I had Windows Messenger 5.1 installed and it is not compatible with Windows Vista. Instead I installed Windows Live Messenger 8.5 (2008) and everything works great. Just a heads up for anyone else with this issue.
